In the press most recently, an interview with Penny Jordan about the family farm on Wells Rd., in the Maine Farm Bureau Newsletter. Penny said one of their focuses is “making fresh foods and farms available to everyone, especially when location or economic status makes it more challenging: ‘If you’re growing food to feed people,’ Penny said, ‘it’s important to share with people that are not as blessed.’” The Jordan’s donate to Cape’s food pantry weekly, sell produce at wholesale to state food banks, and drive the big blue bus full of fresh veggies to retirement homes 4 times a week to reach senior farm share members who lack transportation.
In the September issue of Food Etc. Magazine, Cape Farms’ Market was highlighted for it’s innovative year-round online marketing program. The brainchild of several Cape farmers, the website brings foods from all over the state within easy reach – just a mouse click away – of customers who can’t always get to our farm markets when they’re open.
