The Cape Farm Alliance is a cooperative of farmers and community members who work to increase access to local food, to help maintain the rural character of Cape Elizabeth, and to raise awareness about local farming and fishing.

In short, our mission is “Ensuring Cape Elizabeth’s farming future.” You can support our mission by shopping regularly at our farms, and by donating if you’d like, here. (We are a registered 501(c) 3, non-profit. Funding helps cover our expenses for marketing, insurance for events, and educational outreach. We have no paid staff, just lots of invaluable, hard-working volunteers!)

Ready to Eat More Locally?

There are close to 20 farms in Cape Elizabeth, growing a huge range of fruits and vegetables. Several raise livestock (beef cows, turkeys, chickens, laying hens for eggs, and pigs). If you haven’t already discovered how superior locally grown foods are in both taste and nutrition, to those that have traveled, you’re in for a real treat! Find out more about what our farms grow for you here.

Why We Do What We Do

Small scale agriculture is integral to our local (and state) economy, providing not only food and jobs, but also boosting many related business sectors as well. Our farms are also valued for the beautiful vistas that are a cherished part of the character of Cape Elizabeth.
